MÖTLEY CRÜE's NIKKI SIXX: 'I'm So Over The Internet'
July 20, 2009MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has told Kamau High of The Wall Street Journal that he didn't want to give details of the band's new "Crüe Fest 2" stage set because he thinks the Internet is ruining rock and roll.
"The first thing I did when I walked into the arena to work on the set, I said, 'It's 2009 and there's a million iPhones with a million opportunities to take a picture of our show and ruin Christmas,' he said.
"I'm so over the Internet. Twitter is ridiculous and there's too much info out there. Celebrities, movie stars and rock stars are losing their mystique."
He added, "We want to control as much as we can of what's getting out there about us so that people who come are blown away. The other day I went to a movie with some friends and they were like, 'Let's look it up on the Internet and see what people are saying,' and I was like, 'Man, that's messed up.' Since when is Joe in Poughkeepsie or Sue in Roanoke deciding when something is a great show?"
